Snow on a Satellite Dish

So after the storm last week I was stuck with a bunch of snow covering the dish and sensors on my satellite dish. Ok, normally this wouldn't be a problem, go brush it off. Well, I live in an apartment complex and the guy who installed it evidently had to put it on the roof of the building, which is two floors. I looked at the forecast and kind of hoped that the weather would be able to clear it off, since I have absolutely nothing that will reach 25 feet or so. Right now the dish portion...

Tyler Kepner of the New York Times is confirming. Supposedly a one year deal worth about $6.5 million.

2010 Pitching Projections

I know there are many savvy minds here who can do a more comprehensive effort than this, but I thought I'd throw together a quick and dirty comparison of our starting rotation as currently configured for 2010 against the abomination that was 2009's rotation.

Here are Bill James's projections followed by the 2009 totals. I used Bill James because it's easily available on Fangraphs.

The Phillies, Blue Jays and Mariners have agreed to a trade that will send Roy Halladay to Philadelphia and Cliff Lee to the Mariners, according to an SI.com report.

The exact terms of the deal have not yet been reported, although the Blue Jays were reportedly willing to pay some of Halladay's salary in the right trade. Lee and Halladay are both in the last year of their contracts, with Lee owed $9 million...

Weeks' contract status

The new reports over the weekend indicated only 6 players possibly going to arbitration that were tendered contracts. Gerut, Hart, Gomez, CV, Coffey and Bush. No Weeks but if I recall he signed a one year contract last year to avoid arbitration and don't recall him signing an extension. So what is his contract situation for next year?

Tyco race track

I have a mid eighties Tyco race track from my youth and was hoping for some tips on making it run better. 1/64th or HO scale. Also any tips on where to pick up some replacement parts for the cars other than E-Bay would be great. I think they were Tyco 440-X2 cars.

This fella would seem to me to be a perfect unsexy signing. He'd prefer to start, but he's a durable RP who could step in if necessary. He and Narveson would fill middle relief roles unless an injury occurred, and along with Butler, Murray, and probably Mulder, gives much needed depth to the rotation that was missing last year.

If all were healthy, he'd probably force CV down to Nashville, which while you'd still have to pay him, also adds to the pitching in...

Has there been any talk of bringing back "Cat" at all since the season ended? I thought he was a pretty decent pickup and played pretty well for the Brewers. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in a bench role. I'm not sure if they have room though with Gerut apparently coming back, and the addition of Heether.
