The Tribe DFA'd Matt Herges. Do we make a move to trade for him? He's got a decent WHIP, owing much to his low walk rate. His HR rate is low too.

I'm not sure who the odd man out is then in the bullpen. Narveson has bad numbers so far, but has been OK in his last two outings, and has a decent K rate. Villanueva has been struggling it seems, but I'm not sure if we can option him. He's going to turn it around eventually.

What do people think?

A feel good NYPD story

Talk about a rookie being thrown into the fire early, but this is a story that makes us feel good about newer officers. A rookie NYPD cop makes an arrest minutes after he graduates from the Police Academy in NY.
What I like most about this story is that newly minted cops tend to have slight fear when making an arrest but this quote says it all:

I'm just not quite sure why, when every other name under the sun is thrown out there to start ball games for the Milwaukee Brewers that this guy isn't thrown out there. I do realize that he's not stretched out, and I also realize his value to the bullpen.

He wasn't quite as dominant in June as he was earlier in the season but the guy is a good pitcher and has been a solid starter in his career. He's got a 28/5 K/BB, and can pitch some quality innings. Last year...

XBOX red ring of death

I finally got the red ring of death last night on my 360. I've had it for over 2 years so the thing isnt on warrenty any longer. Has anyone done the at home fix using the guides online? If so, was it really hard and what were the results? I'd rather fix it myself in a day for 30 bucks if I could, rather than sending it to microsoft for a hundred bucks and having it take weeks.

Any advice?

Lead off htting infielder that seems to have lost his starting job, and is signed through next year at about $9M (too much?), so I assume the Red Sox would be happy to get rid of much of the contract. Not a young man anymore. Not sure I'm crazy about th idea, but interesetd in others' thoughts.

Hopefully Butler turns out to be a good prospect. I still miss Gross and never understood the trade. I think it hurt our team at the time and is still hurting us to this day. Gross and Kapler are both playing better than average defense. Link

July 4th Series vs. Cubs

I know it's still early in the season, but I think this series is a very big one. Obviously, it is big with 4 games against the Cubs but I think we can really put the Cubs out of it or they may be able to start a hot streak and overtake the division.

If the Brewers are able to get a split or even take 3 of 4 from the Cubs I think it will really get them going and be big blow to the Cubs and they may just start to fade. Everyone, including me, sees that the Cubs have talent and...
