During Salome's suspension, he got to spend a whole lot of time working with Charlie Greene on his defensive skills. Charlie Greene is a terrific coach. Oddly, it may turn out that the suspension was a major positive for Angel's career.

I was more surprised to hear they were "impressed" with Salome's defense thus far, between the 2 halves of the interview, that was 10 minutes loaded with insight.

my bad there..yeah it would make sense to bump him to AAA, though the org has made a big deal about the defensive work he gets in with Money. So many bats about big-league-ready that its hard not to think about it, aside from the defensive issues...

I'm not sure if this was in response to my comment on promotions, but I wasn't suggesting that the Brewers promote Gamel, or Escobar to Milwaukee, but to AAA Nashville.

I don't think we see Gamel this year unless its as DH. The Hall/Branyan platoon is off to a great start and there would be nowhere to put Branyan if Gamel came up. I don't see the team taking a chance in rushing his glove after the Braun/Weeks/Fielder defensive struggles.

Escobar is going to be interesting. He could get the call, though I wonder if they would take a chance with JJ the way they treat him with kid gloves.

I just listened to that final couple of innings -- nice! Though some might mention (jokingly) that the Power should save these recent wins for the second half race. Good for them -- they deserve a decent stretch of fun....

Braddock's start today was especially exciting in that he opposed Vero Beach starter Jeremy Hellickson, one of the Rays' top prospects and a pitcher that I believe shut down the Power twice last year during the South Atlantic League playoffs. You're sure to see Braddock's name mentioned during BA's prospect pulse roundup on Monday.

Overall, three intriguing lefties on the mound this evening, although only Braddock had an inspiring start. Hammond's been rock...
