More Trade Value? Parra or Escobar (topic) If we end up making a push for Peavy, who do you think has more trade value, Escobar or Parra? I think it's Escobar based on a higher potential ceiling. I like Parra and would rather trade him, but I think we can get more for Escobar. |

Anyone else concerned by this? (Hardy's future in Milwaukee) (topic) http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/40935277.html Not so much the part about Escobar, but that quote from Hardy. ""If the Brewers want to use him, I feel like I'll still be playing shortstop somewhere," Hardy said. "Just not with Milwaukee. There's ... |

Brewers sign Dillard, Stetter, Escobar, Gamel, McGehee, Nelson and Salome to 2009 deals; Latest -- Morlan and Scarpetta also signed (topic) Link to TH's blog post. Not terribly exciting - no salary details given, but most of them got major league deals of around $400K (Stetter probably got a little more) and minor league deals of a lot less than that. By my count, they still need to sign ... |

reserve middle infielder (topic) If the Brewers do indeed go into the season with Hall, and Lamb platooning at third base, they will need a backup middle infielder. The only option that the Brewers have in the system that I can think of is Adam Heether, who has only started playing ... |

Melvin's comments before Winter Meetings (topic) http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/35629934.html This doesn't make me too excited about what will transpire this offseason. He sounds content with what we have now, which worries me a lot. If we don't trade Hardy or Escobar, how will we get a pitcher ... |

Can/Will AEscobar lead off? (topic) His Huntsville OBP vs. lefties is nice but vs. the righties lags behind...he has speed enough to steal a few bases...being a rookie is a factor too... Does he lead off if he is the starting Brewer SS in 2009? |

Could Escobar or Hardy play 2B? (topic) This has probably been discussed but I think if the Brewers could move one of these guys to 2B it vastly improves their team. At the very least they don't have to get rid of Hardy and they can get Weeks out of the lineup. Pick up Cameron's option and ... |

Your initial thoughts on the call ups? (topic) Just some basic questions I have for you guys if you'd give me a quick line of thought on these questions? 1) Are you impressed with Nelson enough to give him a spot even if Fielder is on the team next year? Are you willing to give him a shot at 1B for ... |

The Infield -- 2009 & Beyond (topic) I took teatoe's words in the OF thread literally, since I agreed with his sentiments: "Someone should start an infield thread if there isn't one already. Ideas would really fly there." So let's get talking. I'll start with the SS question... I ... |
