When/Should A Multi-Year Contract Be Offered to Dave Bush? (topic) I've been thinking about this over the past few days and decided to ask the guys who could provide a reasonable take on the question - when/should a multi-year contract be offered to Dave Bush? According to rotoworld Bush signed a 1 year $4 million deal ... |

It would be nice if the starting pitcher went 7 more often (topic) The bullpen wouldn't get so much criticism if the starters would go a bit deeper in games. Yesterday Bush was the first Brewer starter to go 7 full innings this year, although the rotation did have 8 quality starts of 6 innings. (This was the 3rd from ... |

Other near no-hitters (topic) Obviously, the Brewers haven't had too much luck in the no-hitter department. But over the years, there are at least 8 other times a pitcher has taken a no-hitter into the 8th inning. 9/9/71- Bill Travers gives up a leadoff single in the 8th to Tony ... |

Macha to pair Bush with Rivera (topic) Apparently he ordered a statistical analysis and Bush came out as the best pairing. He goes on to say that the pairing probably came down to either Bush or Looper so I doubt the analysis had much to do with the choice. Link The choice was likely ... |

Dave Bush avoids arbitration, signs for $4 mil in '09 (topic) Link to JS Blog. Haudricourt doesn't have the salary number yet, but mentions it should be somewhere around the money Hardy got - I think it will be a little less. Edit: Indeed a little less, $4 mil exactly. Link to new blog. |

How do you feel about the rotation (as presently constituted)? (topic) This issue seems to keep coming up in various pitching and FA-related threads, and I can't say that I'm entirely convinced, one way or the other. I think Yo, Manny, Bush, Suppan, and McClung have to the potential to be just fine -- all of them certainly ... |

Time to move Parra to the bullpen? (topic) Parra has looked bad his last couple of outings. Shouldn't McClung be moved from the bullpen and into the rotation? I believe Parra is about out of gas and I would rather have him rested up and ready to go for the playoffs out of the bullpen if needed ... |

Dave Bush's peripherals (topic) I was bored at work and checking out the stats, and I noticed that Dave Bush has a better WHIP, 1.12 to 1.14, Batting Average Against, .235 to .242, Pitches per Inning Pitched, 14.97 to 15.42, and Hits per 9 innings pitched, 8.01 to 8.25, than Ben Sheets. ... |

McClung to bullpen? -- Yost to platoon McClung and Bush -- Latest: platoon over; Bush back in rotation full-time (reply #165) (topic) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/schedule?team=mil Suppan listed as the starter for the 22nd. That would indicate McClung to the bullpen. If so... who is the odd man out? Mota finally gets released? |

When Suppan comes back who goes? (topic) Do the Brewers limit Parra's innings and pull him from the rotation? or do the Brewers move McClung or Bush from the starting rotation. So what's next with the pitching staff? (topic) Who gets bumped from the rotation, McClung or Bush? Stetter get sent down? My guess is McClung to the pen. Stetter is the only one i can see getting sent down, but that's a shame because i trust him more than Gagne or Mota. |

dave bush has *authenticated balls* (topic) A comment from Yost regarding the plausibility of Bush's no-no, as quoted in espn.com's article about today's game: "You start thinking, 'Geez, maybe,' " Yost said. Bush joins the Odell Jones Club. (topic) Bush's flirtation with the no-no today brought back a memory from my childhood. Gallardo injury: Has torn ACL, placed on 15-day DL; Bush recalled (reply #32) (topic) Oh God....I think I'm going to be sick. Just take him out and thank GOD that he can even walk on that knee. Seriously, I thought that was a torn ACL right off the bat, and now he's walking on it? For Christ Sakes, we deserve some good luck here. |
