ROUND 2c: Thomas "Cody" Adams - RHP - SIGNED
6'2", 180, R/R, Southern Illinois Univ.
BREWERFAN.NET SCOUTING REPORT:
Adams has flown under the radar somewhat the past couple of years, but has no problems lighting up radar guns. He has touched 96, and sits in the 92-94 range with his fastball. He commands the pitch very well, and uses it to set up the rest of his repertoire. His offspeed pitches aren't as consistent as his fastball, as he also throws a slider and a changeup, with both being very good pitches when they're working for him. Many believe those pitches will become better, more consistent offerings when he hones his mechanics and learns to repeat his delivery better. In shorter stints he can throw even harder, so it's not out of the question that he becomes a short reliever down the road. Physically he resembles both Odorizzi and Lintz with a nice, projectable frame and an arm that works very well.
