Duran transferred to Texas A&M after two seasons at North Central Texas Junior College, and his bat exploded this year as he was named the Big 12 conference's player of the year. With a good, strong yet shorter frame, Duran has very good strength, and he started to drive the ball more consistently this spring. He has a good, not great overall tool-set and is able to do a lot of things on the baseball field to help his team win. He will probably have to slide over to second base at the pro level. Duran's older brother German made his big-league debut for the Rangers this spring.
