BREWERFAN.NET SCOUTING REPORT:
Watten is a NAIA standout that came to school known more for his powerful bat than for his arm. His arm strength and lean, projectable build led to his move to the mound, and he has taken well to the switch in a short period of time. He easily throws in the low-90s and could add a few more ticks to his fastball as he continues to hone his craft. He has good yet inconsistent secondary stuff, but he has induced plenty of swings and misses the past couple of years. As a third baseman in addition to his power bat and power arm he is a pretty slick fielder, making him another well-rounded pitching prospect made for playing in the National League.
