ROUND 16: Stosh Wawrzasek - RHP - SIGNED
6'0", 225, R/R, Walnut Creek SS
BREWERFAN.NET SCOUTING REPORT:
The Brewers landed the top two draft-eligible prospects from Canadan when they took fellow Langley, British Columbia natives Brett Lawrie (in the first round) and Stosh Wawrzasek. Wawrzasek is a barrel-chested righty who doesn't win over too many observers when they see his stocky frame. He does routinely surprise people with his looseness on the mound and overall athletically. His fastball sits in the upper-80s to low-90s, and he's touch the 93-94 range on occasion. His curveball is a potential plus pitch, and he also throws a solid changeup. It was expected that he would go about 8-10 rounds higher, so it may be difficult to sign him away from Florida International, but at this spot I'm guessing the Brewers get him in the fold.
NOTES & INFO:
Committed to play college ball at Florida International.
