Ritchie is an exciting prospect as a left-handed pitcher, with a big, sturdy frame and the ability to throw in the 92-93 range. He has an injury riddled history as a pitcher after missing his junior year in high school and most of his senior year due to Tommy John surgery, then he missed the 2007 season when he tore his ACL. His slider can be nasty at times, but lacks consistency, and while he does throw a changeup it's more of a show-me pitch. His athleticism is limited with stiff actions, and he will have to be mindful of his conditioning. He does have considerable upside, but he also has some issues to address for him to be successful as a pro.
