Stang is a tall and wiry strong athlete built similar to Hunter Pence. He has similar tools to Pence as well, with an unorthodox approach and an interesting blend of power and speed. He enjoyed a fine season at the plate this past spring, hitting .370 with 12 doubles, five triples and six home runs. He also showed a disciplined eye, walking 29 times in 173 at-bats. He has committed to play for LSU for the 2009-10 calendar year, but being selected this high he likely signs with the Brewers.
