Any of Narron, Hammond, or Miller would be fine with me. Or maybe they'll move ZachJack back to the rotation and call up Patrick Ryan (or just be lame and
bring Jason Shiell back up).

Is Jones still going to be limited to 3 inning starts in huntsville?

I know he's had success, but I have a hard time getting on board with Narron, same as I do Dillard. We'll see I guess.

I would rather see Hammond promoted than Narron, but he made his scheduled start tonight.

Does anyone know how fast Jones has been throwing this year? I'll have a chance to finally see him in Huntsville now!

May 16 P Zach Jackson recalled by Milwaukee; P Mitch Stetter optioned from Milwaukee; P Sam Narron added from HuntsvilleAs prediced, Sam Narron is now in Nashville. At least it gives hope that other injured pitchers can make it back, too. |

At Brevard, RHP Josh Wahpepah is active from the DL while RHP Mike McClendon is now on the 7-day DL list. The Brewers
backdated McClendon's stint to May 13th, so it is likely a minor injury. McClendon had given up 16 runs in his last 21.1 IP.

Crabbe activated - Nunez released | #69 | ||
|
Per the game notes today, Calix Crabbe was activated and took the roster spot of Abraham Nunez who was released. Crabbe is in the starting lineup today, batting leadoff and playing left field. |

That's the move I was hoping for. I was a little afraid they would keep Nunez over one of the younger kids because of his major league experience.

Nunez might have been the backup utility IF if someone like Counsell/Hardy/Weeks went down. That seems odd to me.

Alos, Nunez may have asked to go elsewhere, if he did not see a clear path. He probably had an "out".

At West Virginia, LHP Curtis Pasma has been placed on the disabled list with an undisclosed injury and LHP Chris Cody has
been activated from the DL at Brevard County and sent to West Virginia to take his place.
At 24 years old, Cody's stay at West Virginia should be brief if he shows he's healthy. You'll remember that Cody was acquired from the Tigers in the Jose Capellan deal and has posted impressive numbers in 32 career appearances (all starts), with sparkling peripherals. |

After fully researching and then informing you this offseason in this
post about OF Curt Miaso, it turns out he will be one of the "phantom" farmhands who never plays in an official game for the
organization, as he has been released.
Baseball America indicates he was released as a RHP -- that's either a mis-print, or Miaso's conversion to the mound hadn't gone well. |

Nashville Site:
To replace Tim Dillard (now in Milwaukee, congratulations Tim, from Brewerfan) on the Nashville roster, right-hander Jason Shiell has rejoined the Sounds from Double-A Huntsville, where he went 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (2 ER / 5.1 IP) in three relief outings. He opened the year with Nashville and posted an 0-3 record and 6.39 ERA (9 ER / 12.2 IP) in 12 relief outings before being reassigned to the Stars on May 12 when Derrick Turnbow joined the club. *** No word yet on a corresponding roster addition for Huntsville.... actually, yes, thank you Huntsville front office -- Brevard County's RHP Donovan Hand with a well-deserved promotion to AA in only his second pro season.

While not completely official, MiLB.com appears to indicate that RHP Mike McClendon has come off the Brevard County DL, which would back-fill
Donovan Hand's place on the Manatee roster.
EDIT: yes, McClendon's back -- official.

As the Brewers DL fills up, the minor league DLs are almost empty. Quite a healthy year, so far (knock on wood). 5 on the Brewers DL and only 5 in the entire
minors on the DL. And Pamisano is the only position player in the whole organization on the DL.

Look for Brent Brewer to join the Manatees tomorrow. The numbers may not seem to justify it, but he's moving up.
