Lambertus... here's hoping he can improve his control and reduce the number of HRs he gives up.

Yeah, nice to see Cody get moved up. I'd actually like to see them be a bit aggressive with him given that's he's already pretty old. If he does
well in his first few appearances in A+, I hope they move him to AA right away.

Nashville Media Notes:
STOCKER RETURNS: Outfielder Mel Stocker has been reinstated from the Sounds' temporary inactive list after spending five days away from the team while attending the birth of his son, Caethen Romel, on Monday. It is the first child for he and his wife, Diana. Stocker fills the roster spot vacated Thursday when pitcher Jeff Weaver requested and was granted his release by the Milwaukee Brewers. Happy Father's Day, Mel! |

So if Stocker is back, Cain has to go down, but Lucroy and Cody are filling the empty two roster spots at BC.

So who becomes the starting catcher in West Virginia? Fryer? I don't think that it would be Snijders. Does Bouchie get moved down?

OF Lorenzo Cain has been transferred back to Brevard County from Nashville.
When catcher Jonathan Lucroy joins Brevard later this week, a corresponding move will need to be made. |

As mentioned in this article we
linked to in Tuesday's Link Report, LHP Steve Hammond is moving up to Nashville from Huntsville -- no word yet on a corresponding roster
move for the Stars.

To make room for catcher Jonathan Lucroy at Brevard, 23-year-old catcher / outfielder Anderson de la Rosa has been sent down
to West Virginia from the Manatees. Some of us have wanted to see what the Venezuelan prospect can do with more playing time, which should be available,
splitting time with Uly Snijders with the Power.
Meanwhile at Brevard, Andy Bouchie and Martin Maldonado will vie for playing time behind the dish on days when Lucroy is the DH or out of the lineup. |

Lucroy's Replacement | #74 | ||
|
I would expect WVA to start Eric Fryer as the regular C, despite the pecking order when he came up. He's shown some hitting ability and he's reportedly
a good catcher. As a 10th draft pick, he probably prevails over Uly or Anderson. I expect Anderson might see some time back in the OF where he started.

From the Tennessean:
Sounds reliever Jason Shiell was reassigned to Double-A Huntsville prior to Thursday's game. Shiell was 0-3 with a 7.71 ERA in 21 appearances, and opponents were hitting .333 against him. |

RHP Dave Johnson has been activated from the Huntsville disabled list.
To make room, RHP Josh Wahpepah has been returned to high-A Brevard County. Thought Josh was finally past that point in his career with the recent AA promotion, but the numbers game looms large in this business. By our count, Brevard County will need to make a correpsonding move prior to this evening's game, but we've miscalculated before, and will again. |
