Follow Thursday's action as it happens:
Here's what you do, right click on each of the links below and choose "Open in New Tab or New Window". Choose "Recap". While you're listening to your minor league game of choice (or watching/listening to the big league Crew when they are playing), simply refresh your game log browsers every so often. UPDATE: MiLB.com apparently will make Gameday available this year in additional leagues beyond AAA, which would supersede the game logs in some ways. We'll see if they're ready to go tonight! Any insight as to why DiFelice left after two scoreless innings?

Brewer is hitting .370/.414/.481 over the last week with only one error (thought he had two in the previous game). Best week this year?

And Donovan Hand ensures that Braddock's won't be the worst start in the system tonight...

Taylor Green had a good game, 2-3 with a walk. He had been 3-24 with one walk since the trade.

Another question is why isn't he (Fryer) catching more often? That seems to be where his value would be highest.

battlekow wrote: 2 hour 15 minute of the game. Michael Brantley charged the mound after a couple of inside pitches. The catcher, Tatum knocked him down from behind. All heck breaks loose. Sounds like it was brewing for a while and not just a usual baseball fight. Sounded like Brantley got punched in the face. Kind of fun listening to the Stars broadcaster describe the goings on. Really describing the Chattanooga manager Goff as a real aggressor.

The brawl in the Huntsville game apparently took 30 minutes, and started after Mike Brantley charged the mound after the Lookouts pitcher tried and failed to
hit both Brantley and the Stars pitcher, Ryan.

Well, maybe the Indians won't want Brantley after this.

Lookouts Win Marred By BrawlJuly 13, 2008 - 12:08AMThe Lookouts bats exploded for 13 runs on Saturday night, but their tempers exploded as well. A bench clearing brawl in the 5th lead to 9 ejections, but the Chattanooga had already put the game away at that point and won easily 13-3. The whole thing started in the bottom 4th when after a Danny Dorn home run, Tonys Gutierrez was promptly plunked by the next Patrick Ryan pitch. Sam Lecure returned the favor in the top of the 5th when he hit Michael Brantley, that emptied the benches. Brantly and Lecure were both ejected as were Craig Tatam, Justin Turner, Sean Henry and Manager Mike Goff for the Lookouts. For the Stars Angel Salome, Michael Bell and David Welch were also tossed. With the win Chattanooga breaks a 5 game losing streak. The Lookouts are off the next three games for the Southern League All Star game. Pithcers Ben Jukich, Robert Manuel and third baseman Eric Eymann will represent Chattanooga on the North Division Squad in Tuesday's game. |

man, expensive night for the Stars. I believe the AA fine for getting tossed is $500, which is roughly 1/15th of their base pay

Final, Game One: New Orleans (Mets) 7, Nashville 0, game ended early, 6 1/2 innings, lightning
Game Two: Postponed Nashville Site Game Summary: Link for Brendan Katin photo, text follows -- Sounds Shut Out In Rain-Shortened Contest NASHVILLE - The Nashville Sounds were shut out by the New Orleans Zephyrs, 7-0, in a rain-shortened seven-inning contest on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium. The game, which was played under a steady drizzle for the majority of the evening, was halted after the top of the seventh due to a combination of temporary electrical failure resulting from a lightning strike then unplayable field conditions as the rains picked up during that delay. The teams' second game of their scheduled doubleheader was postponed and will be made up as part of a Sunday evening twinbill at Greer. New Orleans starting pitcher Brian Stokes (9-8) worked an abbreviated, six-inning shutout to earn the win for the Z's. He allowed three hits and struck out six batters in his 106-pitch outing. Nashville starter Mark DiFelice worked two scoreless innings and struck out four before departing early due to an undisclosed reason. NOTE from the Tennessean: Sounds pitcher Mark DiFelice left Saturday's game after two innings with an apparent but undisclosed injury. He was escorted to the clubhouse by trainer Jeff Paxson. The Zephyrs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning against Nashville reliever Ben Howard. Stokes led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an Andy Green sacrifice fly. New Orleans made it a 2-0 game in the fourth when Valentino Pascucci and Michel Abreu led off the inning with back-to-back doubles off Howard. The Z's tacked on five runs in the top of the seventh to extend the lead to 6-0. Derrick Turnbow issued back-to-back one-out, bases-loaded walks to Abreu and Anderson Hernandez to plate the first two runs. After Luis Pena took over on the hill, New Orleans added a third run on former Sound Abraham Nunez's RBI infield single before Pena issued a pair of bases-loaded walks to pinch-hitter Anderson Machado and Jesus Feliciano. All five runs in the frame were charged to Turnbow, whose ERA rose to 10.50 through 18 outings. Sounds outfielder Brendan Katin went 1-for-2 to extend the club's longest active hitting streak to eight games, matching his longest effort of the season. Howard (2-6) took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits over his three innings of work. The teams wrap up the series with a 5:00 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday evening that will consist of two seven-inning contests. In the opener, Nashville left-hander Steve Hammond (0-3, 8.31) will man the bump to take on Zephyrs southpaw Willie Collazo (4-6, 4.32). All-Star left-hander Lindsay Gulin (5-4, 2.89) will make the start for the Sounds in the nightcap to face New Orleans right-hander Nelson Figueroa (3-3, 3.31). Nashville Box Score Frank Kremblas now in an almost impossible spot with his staff for Sunday, read below... Nashville Game Log
