Nix nixed.
Somebody had to say it.

Wow, the weird thing about Coffey this year:
Home: 2.57 ERA Away: 15.19 ERA Sample size of just 19.1 innings, of course, but that's just bizarre. Pretty "meh" claim.
now i'm filled to the top with fear but it's all just a bunch of matter

I don't mind the move. We are desperate in the pen right now and Nix has been a non factor. If I remember correctly, Coffey throws with pretty good
velocity. His walk rate is pretty low and his career ERA is 4.62 in 206 IP. You can't get much better than that off the street.

Oh no, just when I thought I'd seen the end of that red goatee. Now it's in a Brewers' uni.
Well, given the state of the pen these days, why not. I just seem to remember the Brewers always rocking him. So long, Laynce...the last direct trace of El Caballo's time here. My 2008 Milwaukee Brewers: "No meat...no meat." |

Any bullpen help is good at this point.

So, Dillard will get used before Coffey... RIGHT?! I feel like Tim should be calling in from the bullpen phone to the dugout at some point.

Ugh, I hate that guy. Why do you have to sprint from the bullpen? You are not the Ultimate Warrior!

Ned really wanted his Coffey, I guess! Great move! Anyone know what his contract status is? It would be awesome if we could have him in our pen next year.
Can't be much worse than Mota, Riske, and Gagne.

Great...we signed a guy named Coffey. Ned's gonna wanna use him like 8 times a game...

desperate times call for desperate measures . . . .
Not too excited about it. The sprinting in from the bullpen thing is something for the 90s (didn't a Brewer used to do that?) but it sure seems to tire him out, based on some of those numbers from the past. Maybe the rest of the relievers will be motivated to pitch better after seeing Doug have to dig way into the cosmos to pull a fairly cruddy pitcher out of nowhere and put him in Milwaukee.

So...What was everyone's favorite memory of the Nix era?

Anyone know what his contract status is?
He entered this season with 2.135 years of service time, so he will be arbitration eligible. |

Nix has always been a favorite of mine. I have no idea why and won't even try to justify why. I was kind of hoping he would get enough time to show he
could be a reserve OF next year. I guess that isn't in the cards. Oh well, so much for irrational love of a player.

So long, Laynce...the last direct trace of El Caballo's time here. I think Hardy still drives Lee's old car.

From there Nix became my irrational "man crush" guy ......that was someday going to make it. |
