For all IT experts. It looks like my hard drive just crashed on my desktop that is about 6 years old. I get a warning message to back up data and when I hit to
continue the computer just goes blank and doesn't boot. What are my options for reovery of the data on the computer and the chances of it being
accomplished?

Do you have another pc you can put the drive in? You may be able to get the data off it if you don't have to boot from it.

It sounds like your boot sector is corrupted, but without seeing it, its tough to say for sure. You could try to reinstall windows without reformatting or
doing the windows repair option if you have a repair disc.... depending on what your PC/discs situation is. If you got a pre-packaged software/PC bundle a lot
of them won't allow you to do either, they'll just wipe the drive clean and go from there.
