Hopefully Butler turns out to be a good prospect. I still miss Gross and never understood the trade. I think it hurt our team at the time and is still
hurting us to this day. Gross and Kapler are both playing better than average defense. Link

I read that as well. I miss Gross too, but Butler has the potential to give the Brewers a lot more than Gross did in his time here(not entirely Gabe's
fault since he was somewhat mis-used by Yost) and is showing it this year in the minors.

I'm not saying I blame Melvin at all, I love the job DM does, but what if we traded Hart then and had Gross/Kapler now plus whatever the Hart trade brought
in return...I know, there are tons of what ifs, just sayin

Hart's big 2007 makes it hard to think we should have traded him, especially given his minor league track record. It is too much to ask to be able to
predict him suddenly refusing to take a walk and becoming a below average player in my opinion. I do agree that the Gross trade hurt since we really could have
used him last year and obviously this year.

I always thought we gave up Gross too easily. He struggled out of the box last year and they seem to give up on him quick. For a team desperate for a LH bat,
he was more than adequate. Theoretically Gerut should be the same player, maybe a little more flexible on D. Kapler I get, he made more money and got more
playing time than he was going to get here.

Butler is actually having a very impressive season. He didn't do much at first, but the Brewers clearly liked something about him, and now it looks like it
might pay off.
