Yes! Here it is, a breakout through game of sorts for Mark Rogers. 4 shoutout innings, just 2 hits, no BB, 4 K. It would appear they're inching his pitch
count up, or he was incredibly efficient.
Edit: Rogers comes out in the 5th and retires another batter before being replaced. Awesome.

They did up his pitch count. It is now at 70 and all I can say is that it is about time (He can finally get the opportunity to get settled into a game). I
think that we are all finally going to see what Mark can really do.

Great game by Mark.
I'd say the most impressive stat is that he didn't have any walks. Even when healthy, Mark Rogers still has to cut down on his BB before he becomes a very legitimate starting prospect. |

Dillard with a masterpiece performance tonight! He faces the minimum and gets a complete game win!
Cain 2-2 with his first HR tonight! Great news on Mark Rogers as well!

In honor of Dillard's performance, which I didn't believe he had in him I give you....

Final, Game One: Nashville 1, Memphis 0
Nashville Site Game Summary Dillard Tosses One-Hitter In Twinbill Opener MEMPHIS -- Sounds right-hander Tim Dillard tossed an eight-inning, one-hit shutout in Nashville's 1-0 victory over the Memphis Redbirds at AutoZone Park in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday evening. Dillard (10-4), who faced the minimum 24 batters in his outing, allowed a first-inning Tyler Greene single then erased him on a double play grounder en route to retiring the final 22 Memphis batters in order. Jason Bourgeois went 2-for-4 for Nashville and drove in the winning run with a single in the top of the eighth inning. The teams are currently competing in the nightcap. Complete results will be posted at the conclusion of tonight's on-field action. Nashville Box Score I know I wasn't the only one that didn't know what the Brewers were doing with Tim Dillard to open the season when they returned him to the starting rotation, but slowly but surely he seems to be going deeper and deeper into ballgames, and may just be a candidate to chip in at the big-league level sooner rather than later. That isn't to say that I'm not still a little confused by the way they have handled him, but it's hard not to root for the sinkerballer, whose patience has got to be rewarded at some point. It's hard to say much else about this one, as Dillard even helped his own cause with a single as part of the team's rally in the top of the eighth. Nashville Box Score The Sounds did miss a seemingly much more ripe opportunity in the top of the seventh, but decided to wait to make things more interesting an inning later. Just an impressive game for Dillard, who faced the minimum in his eight innings of work. Memphis' starter Blake Hawksworth also pitched well, as both teams faced the minimum through six innings. No surprise this game last only 1:43 (with only one person in the crowd -- see Mass, it's not just the Arizona League).

Final: St. Lucie 1, Brevard County 2
Brevard County Box Score Another solid pitching performance by both teams, as each club only managed to record five hits. The 'Tees did walk five times, while the pitching staff did not issue a single free pass. Caleb Gindl hits his 12th double on the year, and is currently sixth in the FSL in OPS. Mark Rogers as noted above puts together an impressive performance as he continues to build arm strength. Brevard County is the one affiliate we continue to struggle to find followers, as it would sure be nice to know how well this young man threw tonight outside of using our own imaginations through the box score. Mark Willinsky does a fine job in relief as well, as the Mets' only run came on a solo shot by 2008 first-round pick Reese Havens off of Jim Henderson in the ninth. Brevard County Game Log Similar to game one between Nashville and Memphis, this game seemed to be played fairly quickly and cleanly. The Manatees did have their fair share of runners scattered throughout the game.

By the way, Lucroy's OBP is fantastic.
He has a .246 batting average and a .365 OPS. I really like the 55BB/44K ratio. |

Final: Carolina 1, Huntsville 6
Huntsville Site Game Summary Southpaw Slows Down Mudcats in Stars Win By Brett Pollock / Huntsville Stars Sam Narron spun 7 2/3 impressive innings and Huntsville hit two home runs in a 6-1 win over Carolina Wednesday night in the second of a five-game set at Joe Davis Stadium that was delayed by 15 minutes at the outset due to rain. The Stars improved to 12-15 in the second half and 50-46 overall, while the Mudcats dipped to 10-17 in the second half and 47-49 overall. The Stars won for the first time in six home games in July and for the first time on home soil since June 26. Lorenzo Cain, who had just two singles in his first 20 at-bats and is coming back from a hamstring and left knee injury, slammed a fly ball off the wall in center field that trickled away from Sean Henry, who slammed into the wall trying to make the catch, and was retrieved by Carson Keiner, the right fielder. Cain circled the bases and scored ahead of the relay throw for an inside-the-park home run that put the Stars in the lead 1-0 with one out in the third inning. Taylor Green doubled in a run with two outs in the inning to make it 2-0 before Jonathan Lucroy was thrown out at the plate trying to score to end the frame. Drew Anderson, who had his second four-hit game of the season, tucked a home run just inside the right field foul pole with two outs in the fifth to extend the Stars' lead to 3-0. The Stars pushed the margin to 4-0 in the sixth on a two-out, run-scoring hit by Michael Garciaparra that preceded a Narron single that knocked starter Matthew Klinker out of the game. The Mudcats' hurler suffered his second straight loss after being charged with four runs on eight hits, while walking three and fanning three. The Stars added two runs in the seventh against Ramon Geronimo on a Green ground ball out and a Vinny Rottino single that could have been a grand slam but was pushed back by a gusting wind blowing in from left field. The Mudcats pushed across their only run in the eighth on a two-out single by Jose Castro that plated Carson Kainer and knocked Narron out of the game. The left-hander allowed five hits, all singles, struck out seven and did not walk a batter to earn his first win in two starts with the Stars. Mike McClendon retired all four batters he faced to close out the victory. The series continues Thursday night with right-hander Donovan Hand taking the hill for the Stars against Mudcats' southpaw Tom Cochran. Coverage of the game begins at 6:45 pm central time and can be heard through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com. Huntsville Box Score Tim Dillard, Mark Rogers and then Sam Narron with strong outings for the Brewers' farmhands. Drew Anderson responds after his own feature with a four-hit game, including a solo shot and three runs scored. Lorenzo Cain adds another solo shot, an inside-the-park job, with two hits in total, two runs scored and a walk. Taylor Green with an RBI double and an RBI groundout, and Jonathan Lucroy continues to get on base via the free pass despite not hitting as well as many of us hoped/thought he would. Huntsville Game Log Yet another solid, clean all-around game for the Brewers down on the farm this evening.

Final: Dayton 9, Wisconsin 4
Wisconsin Box Score Cody Adams' suspension meant Daniel Meadows got thrown into starting duty, his fifth start of the year, and he didn't have a very good day on the mound. Peter Fatse with three hits, including a double and a triple, while Brett Lawrie goes 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Wisconsin Game Log
